Indoor Air Quality
Did you know that your indoor air is 2-10 times more polluted than outside air?  Older homes were much less airtight, allowing fresh outside air into your home.  Newly renovated homes are often much better sealed, but lack the mechanical systems of new homes to exhaust stale indoor air, and bring in fresh outside air.  If you feel tired or have allergies, asthma, or other health related problems, you may benefit from having your home’s air tested.

Airtech is the only Air Advice contractor in the Lethbridge area that can test your air first, and use the results to recommend the right solution.

Check out Lennox to learn more about the products available, or contact Airtech today and get a packaged solution that is best for you.

Ventilation is simply the replacement of stale air with fresh air. Older homes have an inherent amount of leakage that allows outisde air into the house. As homes become more energy efficient, the also can become more tigthly sealed, leading to stale and poor air quality.

Filters play an integral part in the operating efficiency and longevity of most equipment.  Just as regular filter service is beneficial for your car, you furnace also requires proper filtration and maintenance.

Where Filtration removes particulates (ie. dust) from the air, Purification helps to kill mold, bacteria and viruses, as well as tackle odors and chemical pollutants, helping to provide the cleanest air possible in your home.

Controls have come a long way over the years.  The older manual thermostats have been replaced with programmable, mercury-free, smarter models.  They can be simple touch-screen displays, or programmable color LCD models that control humidity and connect wirelessly to the internet and your smart phone.  For the ultimate in home comfort, add a zoning system to allow you to control your comfort throughout your home.

Lethbridge can be uncomfortably dry in the winter months, worsening dry nose and throat issues.  Humidity in the homes needs to be kept within 30-50% for optimal comfort.  Excessive dryness can crack hardwood floors, and create health issues and irritation.  Too much humidity can promote mold and bacterial growth, and contribute to structural rot (ie. window frames).
